GDRR 513 - Environmental Planning and Sustainable Development

Fundamental principles, laws and procedures involved in the environmental planning of towns and cities with emphasis on the use of concepts of sustainable development in providing solutions to environmental problems such as pollution, flooding, blighted areas and its rehabilitation; eradication of slums; zoning and subdivision control; concept and use of environmental impact assessment; prediction of impact in air, water and land environment, in the biological and socio-economic environments; methods of analysis of laws and regulations pertinent to the administration of environmental policies and programs.

Course Learning Objectives

At the end of the course, the students shall be able to:
  1. CLO 1: Relate the effects of pollution control and environmental impact assessment to DRR.
  2. CLO 2: Apply the concepts and principles of sustainability and sustainable development to DRR.
  3. CLO 3: Link climate change to DRR.
